It is time to live my dream!
I compromised my present, lifestyle and passion to secure the golden era – tomorrow. For many people, retirement is a time when your values become more important than money but for me, retirement is more of adventure, with a little inspiration. This golden period gifted me with spending more time with loved ones and pursuing my hobbies. Today when I looked back in time, I found myself frustrated working and raising children, totally forget about my hobbies and activities I ever want to do. Overall, whole lifestyle changes during retirement and spending may increase for part of the time.
Even though I worked a whole life to have good retirement savings, I find it’s very unpredictable and proven problematic due to a lack of structured planning. Not everyone realizes to save well for the future to have quality time with family. As when I have all my time for my kids and grandchildren, they seem busy. Earlier I used to dream of days when I don’t want to go to work, answerable to my boss, my whole day dedicated to my family. When I was busy pursuing other activities, I forget about the challenges of this new life. It is easy to get wrapped up in the financial aspects of planning but in all, we forget about personal investment. Money just helping you go a long way toward achieving financial security but it’s difficult to cover this loss. However, a plan for what to do in retirement is perhaps more important, than having smart savings. Personalized healthy investment in relationships has more weight. In my best advice, it is important to give quality importance to your loved ones. It’s ironic, but I learned how to make a plan and maintain your time according to your family members. Of course, money never is enough to save for retirement but don’t overlook the fact that life’s pleasures to maximize your nest egg are more valuable than money.
How do you think retirement should be defined?
In, my experience save for retirement doesn’t come at the expense of enjoying your present life. In general, it is easy to create and maintain the retirement plan but it never makes sense investing is one piece of the retirement puzzle, and forget about the treasure that we have today.
